A serene scene, the view from Murten’s city walls over the lake to the vineyards on Mont Vully. The completely flat Grosse Moos, once marshland, is now Switzerland’s vegetable garden. Via Aarberg, along the meandering Aare to Solothurn.

Hagneck Canal Detour/Block of the Hagneck Dam  
Due to restoration of the Hagneck Canal between Hagneck and Aarberg, the passageway on the dam is closed until approx. 2014.

Family cycling tours  
The section between Murten and Aarberg (22 km) is especially recommended with children. The following sightseeing attractions are of particular interest to children (details in right-hand column): Papiliorama. The Murtensee lake is ideal for bathing.
